Jimmy played the short game (ep 6 spoilers)

I think Jimmy let his emotions get the best of him. The lawyer had set McCall up to take the fall, and having him off the streets would be much better than having the lawyer around in terms of overall crime and violence. I got the impression that the lawyer, having bankrupted McCall with the money laundering skimming, was ready to retire to warmer climes. he just wanted to make sure McCall didn't come after him. But now we see McCall in the bar, back in power. Jimmy may not have made an enemy, but neither is he scot free as long as the crazy guy is breathing.

I don't think that Jimmy has to worry (unless he investigates McCall again). By telling McCall the truth, Jimmy allowed him to keep out of jail--at least for now, to discover and dispose of a secret enemy, and to keep the respect of his men. At this rate, McCall owes Jimmy, or at the very least, has no good reason to go after him.

Yes, it did cross my mind what the boyos back in Glasgow (like Iain who had worked so hard on the case), thought of Jimmy giving McCall a thin coat of Teflon after helping Jimmy out with the tan salon witness, etc.

It's Iain's back yard, not Jimmy's! ha

reply

Yes, I think this time Jimmy helped the wrong guy.
