Lerwick

In the first series, I only ever heard Lehrr'ick. In the second series someone (I think Henshall) said Lehrr-wick once, but in Series 3 it seemed back and forth between the two with everyone.

How do Shetlanders pronounce the name of this town?

I've just watched part 2 of Blue Lightning, season 2. And I really love this series. Though they weren't in Lerwick in those episodes, so I didn't think of it. But I normally use forvo.com, since they have good pronunciations of Swedish names, (I'm a Swede) but not on Lerwick. One was from the US and the other from the UK, but it just sounded odd.

And when google, there's apparently no right or wrong, so I guess they use both, just as you said. I found this one on Youtube;

Never trust those automated pronunciation vids on yt. I checked the Oxford Dict. Online; the "w" should be pronounced:

Also, the actor who plays Sandy was born in the Shetland Islands, and in 3x3 his character pronounces it "Lair-wick."
