Moray's Wife

Am I the only person who found it odd that after the first season they don't even mention Moray's deceased wife. It is like both her and Pauline both vanished to Mandyville.

I can understand Pauline having moved on in the year between series 1 and series 2; however, Moray's wife was a huge part of his character in series 1. Yes, she was deceased before the show began, but between all of the mentioning and her massive portrait above his office it was odd that she was never again mentioned after the first series.

I completely agree; there were so many secrets in season 1 regarding Moray's diseased wife,I was really looking forward to the "truth" coming out. The explanation of what really happened ended up being so simple; it was disappointing.

The truth being that his wife died in an accident and Moray being so grief stricken that they didn't allow people to talk about her at the store made sense and I didn't feel was a let down.

The fact that all of that character development just vanished without even a mentioning of her for the rest of the show was just a bit of a letdown.

I was a bit disappointed by it, only because it was such a big deal in season 1. I can see what you mean though, by season two he had completely moved on. I imagine Denise had something to do with that.

I found this plot element strange in the first season. In the first episode, Denise was suddenly asking around about Moray's wife, and already knew she wasn't supposed to. The first thing viewers hear is something like "why aren't we supposed to talk about Mr. Moray's wife's death?" As a first mention, this was confusing--I kept thinking I missed a scene where Denise learned he had previously been married. Bad writing!
