How does Mr. Glendenning take over the Paradise?
We learn at the end of season 1 that Glendenning bought the freehold to the whole street, but are we to believe that this puts him in control of the businesses who lease space from him? That seems like a stretch. Owning the freehold just makes him a landlord, right? Or might Moray have given him the store to pay back his debts, which Glendenning may have called in when Moray canceled his wedding with Katherine?
I'm only just starting season 2, so perhaps I'll find out more.
