This is a superb psychological-horror movie, not only did it freak me out but the story is interesting and constructed by agile hands. Acting is just solid enough, editing is fluid but complex and the script, like I said, was out of this world. 7.5/10
sharei'm re-watching this tonight, & just noticed your post & had to chime in to say i completely agree. i think mike flanagan is the most consistent horror director going right now (though i was disappointed in his shining sequel), and i definitely rate this among his best films. i would probably rank this as #2, with absentia first.
