30 feet radius

I see a lot of posts about the 30 feet radius. Some make good points, some, not so much. However, I have to wonder, how many of you have actually paid attention to the movie? Kaylie clearly discovers that radius after she sets the experiment up. And even then, the mirror extends it's grip beyond the 30 feet (like upstairs and outside the house). Which makes me beg the question: is there a number that can be attributed to that radius?

On a different note: besides an unforeseen accident, like the father smashing into it, I don't think there is any way to defeat that mirror. As I see it, that shiny spooky little bastard is like the ultimate super-villain.

there was a way, sort of. Set the anchor, leave the tape running and walk out. I would like to have seen what would have happened if they had done that. I think part of the problem was that they did hang around.

You underestimate the mirror. Once it was in place and it understood the plan, she wasn't getting out of that house.

Look what happened when the brother walked out? He sat down inside the front door because it did not want him to leave, if they had set the anchor to drop the mirror would have just positioned them both in front of itself with them thinking they were in Disneyland or Tunisia or wherever.

I think the 30 foot radius was true. Its 30 foot bubble would extend outside and upstairs especially since it was right by the door and under the parents bedroom because the children's rooms are unaffected.

She proved it as a kid when she went out to the neighbor for help, if she was still affected at any distance she'd probably see how no one answers the door or tells her "go back to your father". And if the radius is real they only have to break it from a far distance.
