You can clearly see him put his arm up as...

He's about to run into the window. That scene in the trailer. I mean, you'd figure they'd have a better way of being subtle there, but it's rather obvious the actor sees it coming even though the character isn't supposed to.

I think he was trying to jump threw a window. It wasn't a running into a window by accident gag

... and you can see Isla Fischer laugh as Zach Galifianakis shouts "Help!" to his tie mic (which makes the scene funnier imo).
