Wasn't there a serious movie w/ a similar plot?

It was like several years ago, I forgot what it was called, there was a family who had seemingly nice neighbors who turned out to be bad spies.

There's the whole nine yards, but that wasn't entirely serious. Seems there are definitely a few others at least with similar plots though.

Nope, not the movie I was thinking of.

Seriously, what movie (NOT "Whole 9 Yards" nor "Whole 10 Yards" was about crazy spy/terrorist neighbors but it was serious??? It was a few years ago, I don't even remember what year, who starred in it, WHAT?

Killers (2010), with Ashton Kutcher and Katherine Heigl

"Killers" 2010 seemed to me to be a cheap knock off of "Mr. and Mrs. Smith" the big budget film that brought Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt together.

there's at least 10 movies with this same silly tired cliched plot. another one is -

The In-Laws (2003)

Right before his daughter's wedding, a mild-mannered foot doctor discovers that his future son-in-law's father is a free-wheeling international spy.

reply

Yeah I remember that one, but that is not quite the same. There was also a cute one a few years ago where a spy had to make believe he is some girl's fiance or something, but I didn't see that one.

No, it wasn't that one, I saw that one. There was another one that was like a comedy, where a guy that was a spy & he posed as a girl's boyfriend or fiance or something.
