Anyone else find it odd to have 44-year-old Jon Hamm married to a 30-year-old in this movie? I mean, it's not shocking in this day and age, but it's hardly common either.

But I'm talking about his character in the movie, not Jon Hamm himself.

Age don't matter for women if you are somewhat decent looking. I see age gaps like that all around where I live.
I'm not even saying that his character could not find someone much younger. All I'm saying is that a 14 year age gap is unusual.

Firstly, they were celebrities, where what's "normal" for the rest of us doesn't apply. I'm talking about the "normal" characters in this movie.
However, things were different in 1943. Women grew up much faster than they do today. By 19 it was normal to marry and have kids already. Today, 19 year olds are children compared to the 1940s, in terms of where they're at in life. share
