Weird age gap between Jon Hamm and his wife in this...

Anyone else find it odd to have 44-year-old Jon Hamm married to a 30-year-old in this movie? I mean, it's not shocking in this day and age, but it's hardly common either.

reply

Not really. Jon Hamm can slay any lady he wants. 99% of women think he is dreamy from Mad Men, and if you look like Jon Hamm and have money women then there you go.

reply

But I'm talking about his character in the movie, not Jon Hamm himself.

reply

Ok still that don't matter if you are guy that looks like Jon Hamm you going to be fine.

Age don't matter for women if you are somewhat decent looking. I see age gaps like that all around where I live.

reply

I'm not even saying that his character could not find someone much younger. All I'm saying is that a 14 year age gap is unusual.

reply

Na it's fine. get out more.

Also this is nothing new in Hollywood.

Humphrey Bogart and Lauren Bacall met on the set of To Have and Have Not, she was 19 and he was 45,

So the age gap in this movie is tame compared to that.

Firstly, they were celebrities, where what's "normal" for the rest of us doesn't apply. I'm talking about the "normal" characters in this movie.

However, things were different in 1943. Women grew up much faster than they do today. By 19 it was normal to marry and have kids already. Today, 19 year olds are children compared to the 1940s, in terms of where they're at in life.

reply

You get out more and learn proper grammar. The age difference is uncommon and unbelievable. I won't be seeing the movie.

reply

Not really, but it's ok that you are wrong.

reply

I don´t know about you but I would jump on Jon any time! 

And there´s a rumour that he can fill the GAP in between his legs very well if you know what I mean?! 

reply

Yes very weird to have such a huge age difference. Plus the odd physical mismatch between Isla Fisher and that fat dumpy guy playing her husband. Hollywood just keeps trying to make us swallow these horrible pairings and I just keep rolling my eyes and being extremely sensitive about the movies I see.

reply

What are you talking about. Isla Fisher isn't full prime material. Look at the scene in the trailer where Gal is towering her in lingerie. Her pregnancies made her more looking like a mom, especially how they dressed her in the movie.

Zach doesn't look bad in this one, not bad at all.

There are more absurd pairings, like Kevin James in his new sitcom:

They even mock this in the first extended trailer.

reply

Whatever you say.... agree to disagree. I think the dude is gross and Isla looks much better than him. That's my opinion.

reply

How do you know the characters are the same age as the actors?

WE GOT MOVIE SIIIIIGN!

reply

I'm a 24 year old lesbian and even I can see the appeal of Hamm.

reply

I am pretty sure Hamm would have no trouble in real life attracting beautiful 30 year old women. His character is kind of out of the most interesting man in the world mold in the film so Gal Gadot is not a big surprise there. Besides my dad was 16 years older than my mom. I never saw that as the least bit odd. Woody Allen and Soon Yi (or however you spell her name) that is creepy. This not at all.

reply

Isnt gal married to a rich, older man in real life? And she married very young as well.

reply

No, their age gap is 11 years, not 14.

reply

Well, it is. Also, again those are Hollywood people. This movie is trying to depict regular America. Where the women aren't skinny or 14 years younger than their husbands in the sleeping majority of cases.
