let me preface this by saying i actually liked the movie for the most part. some parts of the movie just had me laughing. like when the wife started bashing her head on the glass door. i get what they were going for but it looked so goofy. the same with happened when the kid started screaming on the playground (shortly after peeing himself).
I didn't get why her clients didn't stop her and call 911. I have the same complaint about other scenes. It appeared the kid was maybe having a siezure and then that the mother was seizing or having a stroke. Either way, that's not something you just stare at and then figure the person is fine if/when they come out of it.
I don't think that would have taken from the story; in fact, I think having people call 911 would add to the doubts others and they, themselves, had about their states of mind. This took me out of the story a little, and I found those bits a little funny, too.
Another thing that was a little wacky was just a few minutes in, when they found the "geometry joke" in the kitchen. My first moves would have been to call 911 (about a probable intruder) and to take photos. They did neither, only mentioning it seemingly as an afterthought later.
I understand they were wrapped up in their own issues, in denial, and didn't have the benefit of the forethought a viewer has, but that might be even more reason to document strange occurrences.
She wakes up startled, which initially makes her think it's a dream. But the facts that she has a bruise and her boss tells her the clients told him she had some kind of breakdown shows us that it was real, and that she blacked out and lost time.
When she banged her head on the glass was funny at first but then I thought I'd be freaked the hell out if that happened to me and it would be far from funny. I think a few scenes were a tad humorous but to be honest when I first saw it I thought I can't imagine going through something like that so it made a lot of it less funny for the first watch....I think one part that made me really creeped out was the branding.
Her clients were absolutely jerks. They saw her having what by all looks was a seizure and not only didn't call 911 but complained about it to her boss? Who does that?!
I totally 100% agree, seizure would of been on my list of what was going on with her...I know you're not supposed to hold someone down from one but I would at least move her away from the bloody window....and then they go to another Real estate agency....major douches
The REALLY douch-ey move was by her boss who is not only NOT concerned about her, but actually angry and not letting her get a word in edgewise to talk to him about what happened. Then putting her on a break from the job, as if she's done something wrong.
I found it funny that she was furious about their money issues, but yet, let her conscious prevent her from making like, 3 sales. The commission from that could have easily shut her pie hole if her husband brung it up during the fights.
