Who else will be incredibly pissed if this is the ending...
At the very end Bond retires and passes on his "007" and "James Bond" "codenames" to a new agent who will then be the focus of Bond 26?

shareThat would be stupid, but I don't think that's what they'll do. My guess is another continuity reboot after Craig is done....
shareI sure hope not and that would be really stupid. I actually just wish they'd go back to the way things were before where each film was just it's own separate thing and had little to nothing to do with the film that came before it.
shareThis would be optimal but I always though the fan theory of 007 being a "title" and thus encompassing all the actors under one cannon was kinda cool. So I wouldn't mind TBHWY.
I'll take any ending if they'd just make a decent Bond film for a change.
Even if they did that with Craig's Bond, that would not retroactively change the original continuity. It's clear that Bond was not a code name or title in the first 20 films, but one character.
shareIf they did make Bond a "code name" that would open up so many plot holes and it would singlehandedly destroy the entire franchise.

There's no way they'll do that. Theoretically there will be another 007 some day, but Bond is officially a real person from the Bond family, and the name isn't transferrable.
No, they've just gone ahead and recast the role so many times that they don't think anyone will have a problem with them doing it again. It's easier than having Dr. Who regenerate!
I hate the idea but it seems like something they would do.
shareThat would be a major mistake and I'd really detest it.
shareIf that's the ending Daniel Craig wants, then that's the ending we will get. Daniel Craig has 100% creative control.
