So sick of true stories being rated R!
First Jersey Boys, now this?
shareDon't worry, someday far in the future, you'll be able to get in to see them.
By Grabthar's Hammer...what a savings.

What's being a true story got to do with the rating?

Some of the footage and language shown from the one movie he screen wrote, Return to the Valley of the Dolls, is likely why it has an R rating.
shareI'm f-cking 26 years old, I just miss good old family friendly G and PG rated films like the ones I grew in with in the 90s!
shareSo they should water down the language or stories about his hedonistic lifestyle, something that was a huge part of his growth and change, to make it more family friendly?
Ebert wrote one of the most divisive films almost exclusively to showcase T&A, he's not PG Related material.
Well said.
If I lived the full and bountiful life that Ebert did, and some moron turned my life into a G-rated movie to placate people who insist on pablum, I'd haunt them forever.
It's the surgery pictures.
shareThis would be a wonderful movie to be shown in a high school classroom. It is wise. It deals with how to face death. While teenagers may think death is far away for them, thinking about it in a healthy way early, can lead people to lead happier and better lives, and also show them how to react when a loved one of theirs dies or is sick. Not to mention that Roger's giant-sized life was an inspiration and model on how to live. I really do hope teachers teach this movie.
shareWhy would you care? MPAA ratings are for parents trying to decide what's appropriate for their children. Who cares what it's rated if you are an adult.
shareI don't understand this post at all. Besides, there are plenty of non R-rated movies you can watch.
