Say what you will, you like him or you don't. But no non-homicidal maniac/paedo man deserves what Ebert had to go through.

Most people in this world suffer ... and probably suffer much worse than Roger, but I know what you mean since it is put right up in our faces in this movie. It really makes you feel sorry for him.

I'm not sure about most people in this world suffering more than Roger did – I simply don't know – but it is positively grueling watching him as his condition worsens.
