Brutal Poeticism.

I love Von Trier's *beep* up sense of humor, the two of us are definitely on the same level in that respect. It's as if he knew that the ostensible "nymphomania" at the core of the film would drive less intelligent viewers away (or just really p*ss them off!). This film is an allegory and represents so much more than what some give it credit for. Most humorously and tragically it highlights the futility of storytelling, the frustrating inability of human beings to connect on any level. And yet we still tell our stories, just as Von Trier told his to great acclaim and criticism, neither of which really hit the mark. I freaking love these two films, and everything Von Trier does.

What allegory does this film represent and what else does it represent? I loved these two films too. :)
