The ending killed this movie

I for one thought that the story was pretty cool and interesting. The cons were well done and executed to where they really got the viewer to believe them. Margot Robbie , besides being gorgeous is a pretty good little actress. She did a great job of playing the part of the heartbroken woman who through her affair made her a good thief. Will smith as usual was great. Both actors were very good together.
That being said, the ending was so awful. The con was cool , but the second that guy crashed into his car and the whole interrogation scene went on, it was horrendous. This could have been a very good film for its genre if they didn't make the ending so damn cheesy and abrupt. Nothing played out well, which was a shame because every con leading up to that was executed well and was fun to watch . Then after being shot and left alone with Jess they just walk off to god knows where , and we do not get anything!! Very frustrating to have a film that was pretty good ruined by a final 25 minutes of it. This was butchered and for me went from a probable 8 to a 6.5 or 6 in my case.

I can see where you are coming from. With that being said, I actually kind of liked the ending. Instead of the "All is well that ends well" ending with a typical "The Big One" where everyone makes it in the end, there is a cliffhanger type ending "see you at xmas" and you feel as though the story shall continue. The life of a con, or a "bad person" never ends with one last job. You can go dead broke and still make it because that's what you do-and that's what this movie left me feeling like. Obviously Smith is amazing, as always. I especially liked the father who's also on the series "House of Cards" (Netflix)-he played the role perfectly.
