BD Wong

He played the part of the rich Chinese mark towards the beginning of the film. Liyuan.

It was a small role, but I thought he was impressive. There was a sinister undertone he pulled off so well that I thought he was going to be in the movie more. If the film had had an antagonist (which it didn't), I think he would've been good for it. Sort of like that one guy that you think is ideal for a con, but is really the last person you want to con.

I think it was a missed opportunity in a film that had a lot of missed opportunities. Thoughts?

I think anytime that BD Wong is underutilized is a mistake...dig that guy!

FYI...he is going to be back on Law and Order:SVU this Wed. ;)

I was surprised when I relaized that was him. I was impressed as well

Not only did he look good, he played the hell out of that part, too, and was clearly having fun doing so.

reply

I'd agree with that.

Obviously, they weren't expecting him to do so much with such a small role!

reply

Yeah, it was a well executed role. The main thing is that he didn't overplay it like many others would have.

Almost sounds like the plot of Confidence (2003)
