I don't know about that. But I can say, I could only stand to watch it for about 5 minutes, and passed on it. The movie just didn't work for me. I love Will Smith's comedic abilities, and while there's nothing wrong with taking a role against type, this movie just came across as a DUD! Surprised he'd serve up this turkey to the public. Enjoy if this appeals to you, but definitely not for me.

A dud? This movie was fun and entertaining as hell! I've seen it twice already (at the theatre and somewhere else)and I still like it. It's also got these little twists that I didn't see coming, which kept me watching it until the end. It was still a box office hit, regardless. One of the better films about con artists I've seen in a while.

I'm glad you enjoyed it activista, but people do have different tastes, and one man's trash is often another's treasure. It just wasn't to my taste, and was dud to me. If you found it otherwise, hey, more power to you. It wasn't for me. Thanks.

I have to agree OP. The leads were okay but the execution of the Super Bowl con was insultingly dumb and frankly impossible.
And that he conned all those race car teams with the same ruse was just as ridiculous.

My take was that the different teams assumed they would have an advantage over the competition with supposedly exclusive access to this technology.
The con was that he sold it to ALL of them and the end result was that no one would have an advantage.

So much more fun to respond to posts without being insulting, but i guess that's just me.

That was quite clever and a fair decision. For me the flop was the ex-girlfriend. The acting was fine for Will & Margot but we're supposed to believe she was going to outplay him. Well, how did she outplay him? Just by getting inside Garriga's suite for a stupid watch making Nicky think she was Garriga's girlfriend. That was cheap!

I think what was over the top is your subject line. You might not have liked the film, but some enjoyed and took it for what it was worth, a fun light con game.

I could name 100's of film more lame or stupid.

Overall, it was an average film, but watching Robbie throughout gives it a few extra points for style.

Around the part where he starts losing his *beep* cause he is so bothered by her flirting was about all I could take. Movie was just a little too over the top on all their ideas.

What a bizarre comment blaming writers and directors for a film that was a commercial hit, but you personally didn't like! You must have had some idea about the film's content before you sat down to watch it. If you didn't, you only have yourself to blame.🐭

There are a lot of dead spots and after a while interest dissipates. A movie like this should grow sharper, more intense or something! It never comes into focus. It is lame! Too bad.

Obviously you haven't seen many movies. Go watch some real terrible movies like Battlefield Earth and Glitter and then you can use your subject header.
Why are there so may people who think they can review a movie? It should be a prerequisite to see different types of movies from different eras(including indies) first! "Hey, I've seen about 100 movies and this is the lamest movie ever!" Such a joke.
I would give this movie a 7/10. It was very different from other movies that came out in 2015 and had a smart script. I just think it was too smart for some people.

Can't someone say, for example, This is the worst pizza I've ever tasted! without tasting every pizza or type of pizza in existence? Even if I had never seen Trick Baby, Harry in Your Pocket, The Sting or House of Games I would still say that Focus is a meandering, lame film with characters that were not interesting and a plot that lacked a point or purpose except, perhaps, to entertain, and it basically failed at that. After a point, I didn't feel compelled to finish watching it.

Ha!  Yeah, you can say THAT. ...but, saying that it is the stupidest, lamest worst tasting pizza EVER is actually like saying you DID taste every pizza in existence! 
