Was Kristen Stewart busy?
Question if she was supposed to star but dropped out
shareHer reason was she thought the age gap was to big even though Ben Affleck who was originally going to be in it is about 1-2 years younger then Smith and she was all in with Affleck but when Smith signed on all of a sudden the age is an issue so a lot of people were calling her a racist
shareProbably for the best. Couldn't see her pulling off such a role as well as Robbie
but why did Affleck drop out of the film?
Both Stewart and Robbie cannot act, but Robbie is smoking hot and does not have a lot of haters (yet). Stewart is one of the least liked actresses.

Can not act with a Cesar award. Praised for all her indie work. Won Cannes, NYFF poll for best actress for Sils Maria. Was top 5 at TIFF. Just because you hate Twilight and thought she was bad in doesn't negate all her other work. Take a look. Be objective.

Stewart has one role she can play: ennui. In roles where "bored" and/or "disinterested" is the right tone, she seems to do well. She never could have pulled off this role.
Movies are IQ tests. The IMDB boards are each person's opportunity to broadcast their score.
Robbie wasn't very good in this movie. The writing wasn't very good, either, but she wasn't impressive and there were a number of scenes that had to deal with her pickpocketing or expressing her emotional connection to will smith that I just found unbelievable.
I gotta say that she is horrible in the twilight series and before that, but if you watch Cloud of sils maria, she's amazing in it.
I think,it's because she finally embrace her inner lesbianism that, it makes her more free in expressing her emotion.
I'd blame Twilight on the script, to be honest.
She played it exactly as it was written; Badly.
You should be pretty dumb to think both actresses cannot act. As for Focus, she nailed it. Fact.

Korrel, good points.
The only thing Stewart has been good in is the Twilight films. That is because her 1 dimension of acting was perfect for that role.
Robbie was horrible in Focus. She does have a great body though, which is not Stewart's area of expertise.
Robbie was not in this film for her acting ability, but as eye candy for the audience, to keep the focus skewed from what was really happening, quite clever if you think about it! Focus, what the movie is about is watch over here while I do something else over there, namely pick your pocket, steal your watch, your laptop, suitcase etc.or in this case tell you a story, the movie is quite good, if you watch everything else but the eye candy!
The fact that they had considered Kristen Stewart for the role tells you that acting wasn't the main focus for the female lead...it was for the audience to watch her "beauty" while the story was unfolding. Also telling is that Will Smith a pretty good actor....for Hollywood standards, got the lead, then Kristen Stewart dropped out-she was probably intimidated,or racist, but chose to play the age card.
Never mind, Stewart was particularly bad in Snow White and the Huntsman, couldn't even make the speech to rally the troops, nor give the speech to thank them for pronouncing her their queen....just did that half smirk and shrugged, so not only did the Director screw her, but also screwed her career by leaving that bit in, no one has mentioned that....as for her in the On the Road flick, a role that was about a girl hanging around with the talented writers, was a role that she fit perfect in as she didn't have to say much, just be there. Kristen Stewart is another of these celebrities that people have made famous by going to see their movies and talking about them in the trash magazines etc, not because they can act, but because they have been made famous by the hype surrounding them, and you can name several Hollywood celebrities that have been made famous in the same way...come on you can name them......all the way back to Marilyn Munroe, Angelina Jolie, Kristen Stewart, etc...so called actors who have really no acting ability but because of the hype over their looks, name, who they are related to, they become famous and the more people talk about them the more famous they become, standard blockbuster material!
To stop this madness, you must skip the hyped celebrity movies and go see the indie movies with the lesser known but real actors, who have trained and worked hard for their role in the movie, play, or tv series, those actors deserve our attention.
Can't say about Stewart but I don't know what the hell you are talking about with Robbie. Have you seen "the Wolf of Wall Street?" Did you not appreciate her flawless consistency with the American accent? She did the same in WoWS but from another area of the country. You did know that she is Australian, right?
shareBen dropped out cuz he was doing both Gone Girl and Batman v Superman
shareShe is like a child to me. I know robbie is young but robbie has this maturity about here and sorry to say but kristen is not a good actor at all.
shareFirst of all, yes, KS IS a good actor, it takes only watching Welcome to the Rileys and Sils Maria to know that. Secondly, even if she was bad, would that make Margot Robbie a better actress than her ? Robbie is undeniably better looking, but I haven't seen her act, so far.
However, I'll agree with you on the movie being better off without her. KS wouldn't have fit in anyway. I think she's a beautiful actress, but certainly not "femme fatale" level beautiful, and in that regard, Margot Robbie is a good choice.
___________
- Booker, are you afraid of God ?
- No. But I'm afraid of you.
I agree - I think Kristen Stewart does have talent and the skills to pull off good roles when she wants to but I don't think she has the range to play a femme fatale, she's always been a tomboy in all her roles which is why all the media suspicions that she might be gay.
And KS + Ben Affleck??? It's a square peg in a round hole! Now, Will Smith looks way younger than many actors his age - imagining Ben Affleck charming Kristen Stewart ...ugh...that should be R rated and illegal.
I'm not good with the advice. Can I interest you in a sarcastic comment?
Kristen is actually older than Margot Robbie also. Her excuse as a "big age difference" was clearly an intended racist towards Will Smith
share@krispykremes-- ..."clearly"? What makes you say that? I think you're just mad because you like interracial and wanted to see her all smooched up with the black man, right?
I tried to contain myself but I escaped.
Naw. Probably her agent or the producers got her canned.
I am the Alpha and the Omoxus. The Omoxus and the Omega
@kdjr12688--"...she was all in with Affleck..." How do you know that?...That's right, you don't.
"...all of a sudden..." Really? So it just so happen you were hanging out with her when she had this idea?
I tried to contain myself but I escaped.
Her reason was she thought the age gap was to big even though Ben Affleck who was originally going to be in it is about 1-2 years younger then Smith and she was all in with Affleck but when Smith signed on all of a sudden the age is an issue so a lot of people were calling her a racist

shareNo. Just smart enough to not be associated with crap.
Don't try to cash in love, that check will always bounce.share
Whether she was busy or afraid of how having love scenes with a black man would affect her fan base or whether she was racist, Kristen Stewart should be on Will Smith's Christmas list for providing him with the opportunity to work with Margot Robbie.
shareLol
shareWill Smith must be elated; Margot Robbie is so much hotter than Kristen Stewart. He should probably thank her for being racist. LOL.
shareMs Stewart had to make do with acting with Oscar winner Julianne Moore in Still Alice. I bet she is well upset not to be in Focus.
Best films ever:
Snakes on a Plane
Snakes on a Train
Snakes in a Drain
Snakes on Mark Twain
Yours is possibly one of roughly three sensible comments in this entire thread. Plus, your list of best films had me guffawing, thanks!
