Solomon Lane's rage at getting caught

Turns out it was real

I'm listening to the director's interview on the Empire podcast - Sean Harris did not want to be associated with a "franchise flick," so he agreed to play Lane on the condition that Lane die at the end.

It was only late in shooting that they came up with the notion of capturing Lane alive (which I found more satisfying, personally; the IMF team really get to stick it to him face-to-face).

Harris was NOT pleased - kind of funny to think that it wasn't Solomon Lane in that tank raging at Ethan Hunt, but rather Sean Harris raging at Tom Cruise (the executive producer)

Though he was much happier with Fallout, because his part was fully mapped out (turns out Mission Impossible films are "real" impossible missions, with ridiculous deadlines, budget concerns and last-minute rewrites).

LOL, thanks for this. I just finished the film yesterday (only one I hadn't seen) and loved that rage scene!!

That's hilarious.

Amusing as hell. And it does make Lane’s capture at the end that much more satisfying, no question. Praise Tom! \^^/

But his character surviving really worked out for the best (and obviously Harri$).
