I really don't understand what Eilis sees in this jerk. She deserves better.

Yeah, what's his deal with politely courting Eilis? Why in the world does he resort to scummy tactics like getting to know her better and establishing a romantic connection? Where does get off wanting to love, honor and support her in sickness or in health? The nerve of those dago wops, I swear!
