Train fight scene
Best fight scene I've ever seen. Period.
shareIt's fast, brutal and realistic.
One of the best Bond fights of the series.
Was it a millionaire who said "Imagine no possessions"?
The OP can't have seen many fight scenes then.
share@HugeDaiCottermee Ok, point out one, which you like more.
shareI wouldn't know where to begin as there are so many but let's suggest a handful to begin with:
Bruce Lee vs. Chuck Norris in THE WAY OF THE DRAGON.
Chuck Connors vs. Claude Akins in RIDE BEYOND VENGEANCE.
Charles Bronson vs. Robert Tessier in HARD TIMES.
Clint Eastwood vs. William Smith in ANY WHICH WAY YOU CAN.
Eddie Murphy vs. Nick Nolte in 48 HOURS.
John Wayne vs. Bruce Dern in THE COWBOYS
Gary Cooper vs. Jack Lord in MAN OF THE WEST.
Jackie Chan vs. Benny Urquidez in WHEELS ON MEALS
Sean Connery vs. Robert Shaw in FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE.
Bruce Lee vs. Bob Baker in FIST OF FURY.
Tom Cruise vs. Dougray Scott in MISSION IMPOSSIBLE 2.
Gregory Peck vs. Robert Mitchum in CAPE FEAR (1962 version)
That's a dozen to begin with, I have seen hundreds if not thousands more which are better than the fight in SPECTRE. For example the TV series "Banshee" had better fights in nearly every episode than have ever been seen in a Bond film.
I'll second Connery vs. Shaw in From Russia with Love.
I'll add...
Morpheus against Neo in The Matrix?
Zhang Ziyi and Michelle Yeo in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon
The hallway fight (Oldboy)
Luke vs. Vader (The Empire Strikes Back)
Jake LaMotta refusing to hit the mat in Raging Bull (where he slings himself against the ropes to just take the beating)
If you're not just talking close combat, we've got...
The standoff (The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly)
The bank robbery (Heat)
I'm sure there are more. There are too many fights in movies to definitively say that one of them is superior to the others. I grant you that the train fight in SPECTRE was pretty good, though.
You just list a bunch of OK fights, nothing special. There is nothing that stands out with these fights. With the Bond fight it is the rawness, brutalness that stands out. No music, no kung fu, just crazy, wild fighting where the hero is torn apart and about to die. And you say it is not good? *beep*
share@LeonardPine totally agree!
shareIt's fast, brutal and realistic.
One of the best Bond fights of the series.
Just rewatched it and it was in fact a really good fight scene. Really felt the intensity and complex predatory aspect between the two of them
shareOne thing it communicates very well is Bond using most every skill and opportunity against Hinx, but running out of steam toward the end.
He's totally spent. Until Bond Girl speaks up, of course.
What no man Can give ya. And none Can take away.
is Bond using most every skill and opportunity against Hinx
The name's Bond, James Bond.share
Inspired by the fight aboard the train in FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE combined with the lengthy, brutal fight scene in DARKER THAN AMBER. All three: winners.
shareIt was a decent fight scene but at times the camera was too close to see what was actually happening and they did use shaky cam techniques (which I personally hate). I can literally think of 100's of fight scenes that are superior. Just watch John Wick if you want to see an entire movie of superior fight scenes.
shareI actually found the endless gunplay and fight scenes in John Wick utterly tedious.
The whole film was a POS to be honest.
Was it a millionaire who said "Imagine no possessions"?
Just watch John Wick if you want to see an entire movie of superior fight scenes.
*Virtual high-five*.......... Can't wait for John Wick 2! 😀
shareI too would like to see Bond fight with more of a John Wickian judoishness from James Bond, as that would be more true to character definition than the Bournian Krav Maga they've foisted on Craig. (Though to be fair, Bond reverted to his more traditional boxey brawley style in the SP train, for whatever reason, which is fine by me as well.)
Now, this is a signature gun, and that is an optical palm reader.share
I don't remember Bond utilizing Krav Maga...
shareNot refuting your opinion but do yourself a favor and watch The Raid & The Raid 2...some of the best single-take, continuous fight scenes you'll ever see!
shareNo to knock some guy who brought up a list of great fight scenes...but really? You're comparing this to Bruce Lee? lol if we go by that standard then every fight scene in existence sucks.
