Re-watched opening, same reaction

His suit was way too small! Can barely button the jacket and am surprised he can move in those trousers! Lol

reply

Yep. I hate that new style. Brosnan had way better suits than Craig....

Please stop.

reply

You guys realize the suits are all based on modern style right? Brosnan's suits were huge with 3 buttons. Craig's suits are a throwback to Connery's suits because that 60's boating look is in style.

Yep. Craig's Bond could walk into a '60s Connery film (and vice versa) and his wardrobe wouldn't look out of place.

Not so for Moore's bell-bottoms...

Send her to the snakes!

While Craig's suits are insanely slim-fitting, as previous posters pointed out, that is the current trend these days.

But another random reason his suit might look so tight\bunched up especially from the back is because to make that epic single take walk across those rooftops and into his position, I read he had to wear a wire apparatus under his suit and it was covered up\erased with CGI in post production.

Craig's suits may be fashionable now, but in ten years they'll look silly, if not now already (thanks Mendes... I didn't like the choice of actors under his direction either: M, Moneypenny, Q... and who's idea was it to cut Craig's hair so short in Skyfall? I bet Mendes again) I hope the actors get changed when Craig leaves. Or they could be changed before that just fine. I normally like Ralph Fiennes (he was great in Schindler's List and Strange Days), but M's role just doesn't suit him.

reply

I liked Feinnes' rat impression when he's mad at Bond at the beginning of the film.

I don't want the world. I just want your half.

reply

Those suits look silly on whoever is wearing them. A fashion calamity. You see young men looking pathetic in them every day. If only they knew how daft they look.

reply

Wut? The Craig era suits are timeless (and look absolutly fantastic). Just like Connery. What DOES look silly is Brosnan and Moore who decided to follow funky trends instead of keeping ut classy and traditional. Suits are, and always has been supposed to be tight fitting.

And Craig, with his muscular body is looking absolutly stunning wearing them.

reply

FORM fitting, not tight fitting. And hasn't ALWAYS been the style. But unlike Brosnan era movies where they were off the rack suits that "fit" him, Craig's have all been bespoke. And if you don't know what bespoke means, it means it was custom tailored to his actual body. From scratch, not like "oh hey, this is on a rack, let's refit it to him" But I'd agree, he looked d*mn fine in his suits even if I'm not a fan of form fitting suits and like a little breathe room in them because the whole pants high watering when you take a step or sit makes me queasy.

reply

His suite could be made of a stretch fit material like a lot of women's jeans are made these days to stretch with your movement. The jeans can look skin tight but one can do yoga or karate in them. Same goes for Bond's suite. I thought Daniel Craig looked smoking hot in that suit. It is the in style now.

... End of line.

reply

It would be suite for Bond to wear skin tight yoga jeans, I agree.

Now, this is a signature gun, and that is an optical palm reader.

reply

I saw an interview that said alot of his suits have padding on the inside. That could also make them look way more tighter on him.

reply

I deal with TV and movie wardrobe resale after movies wrap and its rare they pad the suits. Mostily its the stunt men but sometimes lead actors get padding. Its more rare than you think. Although if you look at the end of Casion when Bond finds Mr. White at his Italian Villa and Mr White gets shot by Bond and falls to his knees you can see White is wearing knee pads under his pants. Check it out.

... End of line.

reply

All the more evidence then that White was a janitor as the more elderly in that profession wear knee pads beneath their pants.

reply

absolutely hate the styles, yes they are updated to whats hip currently but still. take one look at the quantum of solace movie poster and then this getup. he was also wearing what appeared to be ladies sunglasses, literally the exact same frames as the freaky daughter.

reply

Lol, they don't pattern styles around what is "hip". They create the styles that become hip. Might surprise many, but there is a sustainable market out there for people that spend over $40k/yr on clothes. Can't give these people a timeless iconic look or the knock offs move in and the gravy train dries up.

reply

You realize that's the new style, right? THE MAJORITY of men these days have bespoke suits that are form fitting. It would be absolutely comical to see Bond in 2016 wearing something Bond wore in 1999 or even 2002. Why? Because he'd look like a weird little Jewish boy wearing his 2x larger father's suit to his Bar Mitzva. I don't personally like the fitted bespoke look, but it's what is in now. Notice how literally ALL the men in this had slim legged, narrow fit bespoke suits? C? M? Oberhauser? Jesus, even Bautista had one. It's the style now.

I watched an interview a while back with Lea Seydoux where she said that the funniest moment during filming was when Daniel ripped his pants :D
