Personally I think this is the dumbest mover ever, EVER.
But hey, IMDB is known for doing very dumb stuff, so why not top all of that by doing one ultimate super dumb massive thing? It's in line with their flawed logic, and their past history of stupid moves.
Talk about tossing the baby with the bath water...
I can't say that I haven't had fun the past 12 years posting here, and keeping Hollywierd informed about what a mess it's become, and have a few laughs along the way as well.
However, The boards here have evolved into a kindergarten of dummies with an average IQ of 50. Name calling for stating an opinion, and then revenge in the reply posts.
If IMDB keeps open the review section for its members, as well as the 'edit' button that I have enjoyed clicking on almost 300 times to add info about a flick, and keeps an "honest" ratings number, that isn't bought by Hollyweird (my biggest concern), I think it may be a positive move, and will "class up the site". Good luck IMDB, I hope locking up your Police uniforms works out for you in the long run.
However, If I see the ratings numbers on poorly made big budget movies get a stank to them, I'm gone, and so will the rest of us be.
Indeed. Is there even a reason to go to IMDb other than the boards? I've considered closing my IMDb account in the past, but the boards kept me in. The boards can get incendiary and full of ad hominems and other logical fallacies, but you can also learn a lot. Without the boards, I might just close my account after all.
