Because it caters to the weak and feeble minded who believe in religion and god/devil with humanistic traits... religions invented by humanity as a form of control

These sorts of religious exorcism movies must be financed somewhere in the background by the Catholic church surely! They are pure propaganda and hammer in the fear and beliefs of the masses.
