I'm only on season 2 episode 6 but jack has really grown on me. His story is the most interesting so far. Kind of interesting considering I started out disliking him.
Ikr? A lot of these characters had pretty grim endings. But then again the actuality of their lives may not be as appealing to the audience. It was a fascinating time.
I especially loved the relationship between Wade and Al. I don't know how old you are, or if you ever even heard of Gunsmoke, but the Wade and Al reminded me strongly of another pair of crotchety friends, Doc and Festus. I don't know how they were in the comics, but in the movie, you could see that Wade and Al cared about each other. Millburn Stone, who played Doc on Gunsmoke, had a famous quote about how does a man tell another man he loves him except by insulting the hell out of him, and that's the feeling I got from Wade and Al. When he told her he had hidden the cure for blindness along with over a hundred pounds of coke in the apartment, that was actually touching to me because for all they knew, it was the last time they would be together. And he didn't want to get all mushy with her, which she didn't want either, so it was mean and snarky but very caring under the surface. I really hope there will be a sequel and Al will be back. It wouldn't be Deadpool without Blind Al.
Yea, I think deadpool became such a fan favorite due to those aspects of his character. He's a total jerk but in the end he wants what we all want. Acceptance, love, etc. He has many interesting relationships in the comics. It'll be fun to see the general audience experience and react to them.
We haven't had a good sad clown in a while. I'm glad people really liked him.
I should check out that show. I like those kind of relationships on screen.
You might have trouble checking out Gunsmoke because it's been off the air for decades but sometimes Western channels carry it. The A-Team have a good snarky pair of friends in B.A. and Murdock. B.A. claims to hate Murdock, but nobody better try doing anything to Murdock because B.A. will rip them in half. And Murdock will just verbally torture B.A. but he'd lay down his life for him in a heartbeat. I love that dynamic, but it is a hard one to get right, which is probably why they don't show it that often. I think Vane and Jack had that kind of dynamic. They played very rough, but by the end, you could tell that they really were friends and cared about each other.
