To have died in the show? I wish they would have killed him like he did in real life. He went out like a badass.

I mean the fight was essentially the same as it was in real life, Only it was Maynard who was the attacker, but they still hid in the bowels of the ship waiting to strike, and it appeared after woodes shot him that that other guy was beginning to cut his head off, Even if the death wasn't at all similar the battle leading up to it kind of was.

Ever notice when people like this give their opinion of what they should've done, it's usually the worst idea ever and you realize quickly why they are just so e loser on a message board and not out actually creating something of their own? shareI'm pretty sure people have complained about things since the beginning of time, not just "this day and age." And creative people put their creations out there to be enjoyed and to be judged. I'm sure these TV producers get paid enough to take a little criticism.
And why is it when people criticize a SHOW, other people reply by getting personal? Losers? We're all just fans talking about a TV show. And (GASP!) we have different opinions.
The creative change resulted in an improvement, as Blackbeard saved Jack simply by surviving that long. So in that sense even the "fighting to the end" part found its way into the show.
shareI would have wanted Teach to have overpowered Rogers, and was ready to cut Rogers down. Anne pleading with him that he's won and that they need Woodes alive to demoralize his troops in Nassau. As Woodes pleads that only he can spare their people in Nassau, just as Teach is about to kill Rogers, raising his sword about to bring it down on Woodes, Anne cuts his arm off. Rogers rises screaming "UNLIMITED POWER" and discharges what looks like lightening bolts from his hands sending Teach flying through the air and landing in the middle of a herd of sharks that shred him to bits in a feeding frenzy.

He was one of the few famous pirates to actually die in battle. I would have preferred they kept it that way. Killing Vane before Teach is also inaccurate, but it worked for the story, as did Hornigold's changed fate, so I was completely fine with those.
This however felt like an unnecessary change. It made his fate to be pretty much Jack's fault, and also I felt the scene kind of dragged on.
All in all, what a waste for his character. Ray Stevenson is fantastic, and the character was interesting.

I disagree it being Jack's fault. Rogers was going to kill Teach no matter what if Jack hadn't raised the white flag Teach was going to die by Rogers' pistol after he was surrounded.
Or Rodgers would have apprehended Teach and used him to force Jack and the crew to surrender (if Jack hadn't surrendered himself already) and that would have led to the same outcome as in the episode.
Right: Rogers was going to kill Teach, and Teach would have known it. He was a seasoned sailor and pirate and would never allow himself to be captured-he would die fighting.
They did a Charles Vane part two for effect to incite the wrath of the pirates, except they did it at the expense of the characters natures.
Teach's pirates would have killed Rackham before surrendering. Especially since they had advantage over the Governor's ship.
It was a great waste! why bring in ray stevenson & he looks the part but by & large, we hardly saw him in battle & was overcome rather easily. I would've expected blackbeard to go in a blaze of glory, although being pulled 3 times by that keel haul was still an astonishing feat.
I was expecting to see more of blackbeard's exploits & battles but alas..writers cut him off rather quickly.
Which brings me to this question..is this the last season?

People what are you on - I thought that was the most gruesome ending to a main character I've ever seen. He was tied and bagged and pulled under the entire length of the boat, banging and mangling his body against rock hard barnacles. Imagine your flesh being violently ground against a jagged cheese grater - Black Beard had it ten fold worse! And he survived it like 4 times - the man wouldn't die! He just lifts his chewed up face and spits at Rogers feet. Come on that was bad ass!
That scene also shows that Rogers is a force the be reckoned with!
I agree with the posters who thought it was lame that Rackham surrenders the boat when he has the total advantage but I think Black Beard's fate was fitting a legend!
