Stars Who Turned Down Iconic Roles

"Dawson's Creek" star Katie Holmes was OITNB creator Jenji Kohan's original choice for the role of Piper.

Holmes was apparently too busy with other commitments to sign on and the part went to Taylor Schilling.

Katie Holmes would have been great in the role.

Wouldn't have been a good choice. Piper is the ultimate wasp; I think they needed a blonde, and someone with TS's naturally upper-class, "haughty" look.
