'Orange' patting itself on the back for its diversity is a bit silly.

"Wow, look how diverse we are. A show that takes place in prison, but still stars a white person."

That's Hollywood for ya.

The person who wrote the book is white. Are they supposed to change details like someone's race or ethnicity in a show based on a true story?

All right. Not going to lie. You raised a fair point. I'm just tired of seeing white people almost always continue to lead diverse films. Just look at Marvel and Star Wars. People of color play second fiddle to whites every time.

It is diverse, having a white person starring doesn't make it less so.

We have blacks, latinos - from the dominican, puerto rican, to the Chinese, different sexual orientation. Piper hasn't been 'lead' since Season 1, where she was simply an introduction to the prison, and even the background character always had their shine.

Since then it has mostly been an ensemble, although you could say Taystee, V and Pouseyy were more of the main characters in S2.

The analogy to Star Wars and Marvel does not make sense, because Marvel probably has one black main character in a movie, and Rogue one had characters from different ethic backgrounds, but they were so poorly underdeveloped it is even hard to call them main characters.
