**....Major.....Spoiler Alert..... **

Just watched this, the action scenes and the rooftop chase are really good.

MAJOR SPOILERS BELOW

Elba is a decent enough lead, the corrupt French cops we have seen before, the only let down is the ending....the Chief of the Police goes to a cathedral pretending to be a Russian called Sergei.

Naturally Elba, Madden are there already waiting with the rest of the non corrupt police department ....if you can forgive the final five minutes, this is a decent action movie, with a brilliant Paris location.

He wasn't really pretending to be Sergei. He just sent out a tip that a guy named Sergei will be waiting for him to do a deal. As soon as Michael approaches "Sergei" at the cathedral, he realizes it's the Chief of the Police and acts caught.

My only beef is how he managed to get the hard drive back after handing it to him and walking in front of him to the basement, sometimes with both hands in his pockets.

And why does everyone in every TV show or movie have to show they're wearing a bulletproof vest after being shot?

^ 2 thumb drives ?

I enjoyed this movie for what it is...a decent action thriller.

This particular scene, I am thinking two things (I need to re-watch) either he got the drive off of the guy in a scene we did not see, after he was arrested (Michael is supposed to be like the best pick pocket ever and might not trust the remaining French police as much as Briar seemed to). Or as mentioned in this read, Michael was given a fake thumb drive to use to give to the chief and then had to hand over the real one to Briar?

I did not mind the end scene but given what proceeds it: Briar is shot at the bank, Michael leaves in the commotion with the drive...I wish we had gotten a scene of the two meeting again after that. Because it seemed a little odd to me that Briar would trust Michael that much. But I guess if we did get that scene, it would have given away the end scene I suppose.
