I don't know how much on this board everyone is caught up to but...
Since Aida is trying to create a machine to make her a real human body, what if she's not successful but instead they make one for Ward? They transfer the Framework version of Ward into a human body.
I'd love to see Ward return to the real world! I have really enjoyed his redemptive arch. It was so nice this week to see the moment he had with Daisy in the bunker where she realised how there was good in him after all. I was never the biggest shipper of Skye/Ward and I truly loved it when Ward was evil as he was a fantastic villain, so I am surprised by how much I have enjoyed seeing Ward being good again. I think the show has missed Brett Dalton and I would welcome his return permanently.
I would like to see a 'good' Ward back - also the conflict that would create, the frustrations for his character if he will be treated like his bad counterpart and how that might change him etc... lots to work with.
But if they do it, then, of course, the machine has to be destroyed right after or they could bring everyone back who ever died...
I'm so pleased to see there is love for Ward on here.
I lurk on a few other boards and everyone seems to hate Ward on them.
In Season 1 when Ward was revealed as a Double Agent - I think it was the episode called 'Turn,Turn,Turn' - my lord - that really blew my mind! I so did not see it coming.
He was so good at being bad and it really showed what a great actor Brett Dalton was seeing him 'about face' so brilliantly.
Much like how wonderful it has been to see Iain De Caestecker as Fitz change so much the last few seasons.
'Dark Fitz' from The Framework is a world away from the Fitz that struggled with a brain injury in Season 2.
As I mentioned on another thread here, I am so in love with the Framework storyline and I really hope it's Ward they get to bring back for good.
As we know by now, things turned out differently. I must confess that before Ward showed up in this season, I was through with his character. He was a great villain but I thought he had served his purpose once he was defeated for good in the last season, so I didn’t miss him at all in season 4... that is, until he appeared in Hydra. Seeing him as a GENUINE good guy this time made me appreciate his character in a way I previously didn’t. Consequently, I was hoping he would stay around as well.
There’s little doubt he might’ve disappeared in the framework along with everyone else who was in there, but as always they can find a way to bring him back. His permanent return is not what I’m hoping happens in season 5 over anything else, but seeing how he was redeemed (even if it wasn’t the “real” Ward), I would like to see him join the team again.
Now we've seen the alternate Ward in the Framework, I really feel like his character has been redeemed enough and that he has gone out on a bit of a high note.
I won't be as anywhere near as upset now if he doesn't get to come back again.
(But I hope he does - as Brett Dalton is a great actor.)
Agree. His character did go out on a high note — he was redeemed in maybe the best way possible. But if he ever does come back, then that’s fine by me.
