Finally watched it

Finally got around to watching this musical remake of the original 2000 film Snow Day. As a big fan of the original film, I was disappointed in this remake. It felt more like High School Musical set on a snow day instead of the original movie. The focus is less on the snow plowman character and more on modern teen angst, which is pretty tame compared to the romantic comedy aspects of the original. Also Hal is more of a dork in this version whereas he seemed more like a strait-laced guy in the original. Also the weatherman dad character played by Chevy Chase in the original is almost non-existent in this film; he’s not even a weatherman and has no subplot other than making pancakes for the younger brother. I would just stick with the original movie if you are a fan!
