I actually really like him as a director, but he needs to let these main roles go to other actors once in awhile. The character's young, blonde, and short and Ben is... none of those. He'd actually be perfect cameoing as Danny.
Just don't play Joe. And don't cast Casey as Joe either oh God.

I agree. I think he's got potential to be a great director. I enjoyed Argo despite all of the inaccuracies of the plot (but isn't that any Hollywood movie?). However, Affleck is not a good actor and he's not going to improve anytime soon. He hasn't improved any in the past few decades, in fact it seems like he gets worse the older he gets.
Please stay behind the camera, Ben. You are a weak actor...
