They're releasing this on a Sunday?
That seems extremely unusual. I get that they want a Christmas release, but why not release it on the 23rd of December, which happens to be a Friday?
shareI think it's only for that one day isn't it? Just to make it eligible for Oscars. Plus u have movies like passengers and assassin's creed coming out on Friday. So better to stay away from the hype for those movies.

True in a sense but when time comes I think Assassin's Creed will make money. For me it's actually the opposite, Passengers has no marketing and it just seems weak. I'm not saying the movie will be bad, It could be good. But the buzz on Passengers compared to Assassin's Creed is very less.
shareAgreed. Passengers looked terrible from the trailer, i don't understand the hype. Despite the possibility of it being bad, Assassins Creed has a cult following that will ensure its success. I actually have my eye on Assassins Creed, despite the terrible music, the Spanish inquisition era does appeal to the eye. Along with both Fassbender and Irons being great actors the film has a lot going for it. It would be an awful shame if it couldn't break the gaming movie curse.

I just don't see what people are liking about Passengers. Apparently the script is brilliant. But the trailer dint do anything for me. But let's see when time comes how the movie actually is. Assassin's Creed has that fan base and plus general audience interest that can definitely ensure it makes money. But the question is will it be good? Personally I like the director and with a cast of Fassbender, Irons and Michael K. Williams it has promise.
