Some few interesting things in there. The most interesting thing to me is it's been said to have a very similar vibe to The Town, which is music to my ears. It looks like Affleck has worked really hard on this, hope it's great.
I like that Ben Affleck is trying to keep the mid budget picture alive. It is unfortunate that they don't get made as much now as most of those types of films seem to have migrated to TV. I also like the comparison about Live by Night being in the same vain as The Town which is still my favourite of Mr Affleck's films that he has directed so far.
It's good that he's doing these kind of movies. Plus i personally haven't seen a good gangster crime drama film for a lot of years. There was 'Gangster Squad' but that was disappointing. Even though he's deeply involved in Batman, i hope he continues to direct more films aside from Batman. Not that I'm not looking forward to it, i enjoy these kind of movies more.
I just realized that the film is under two months away. I'm so excited.
“I’ve spent more time on Live by Night than I did on my two DC movies combined, and that feels really good,”
I love that despite being Batman and having the opportunity to make millions with the role, he prefers to create his own films that are much more... more?
“This is definitely a movie that I would have not been able to make before now,” he says. “It reflects my experience thus far as a filmmaker.”
Considering his last efforts were fantastic, i can only image the scope of this film. A budget of 65 million for the modern day movie is mid-range which is more reasonable then the prior mentioned 110 million.
For me, I'm going to have to wait till January. So the wait is a little longer.
Yeah i like that part of Affleck too. I'm excited to see him direct more.
I knew that figure of $110m was wrong. Where did that number come from. 65 is way more reasonable for a period piece like this. Plus u can definitely notice in a way he's getting better.
Sorry i was meant to type 3 months. With Arrival, Nocturnal Animal and Manchester by the Sea, i'm sure i'll be busy and not notice how fast Live by Night comes.
