DarkKnightMatter,
Actually, you are sadly mistaken. Only three "Southern" educational systems that are ranked in the bottom 11 (including Washington D.C. as a stand alone school system. Which by-the-way, D.C.'s school system ranked 47th!)
42nd - Alabama
46th - Mississippi
51st - Louisiana
You may be interested to note that several Southern school systems cracked the Top25, including:
7th Virginia
14th Florida
17th Kentucky
19th North Carolina
21st Texas
Each of those state's educational systems out performed: CO, NY, PA, RI, OH, WA, and MI.
Arkansas, Georgia, South Carolina, and Tennessee all outranked 42nd placed California.
The bottom five States (and "district") that have the worst educational systems are: D.C., Arizona, Alaska, New Mexico, and Louisiana (47th-51st, respectively).
The Top5 educational systems ARE mostly located in the Northeast, with the exception of Wisconsin. Respectively ranked, they are: MA, NJ, CN, VR, and previously stated Wisconsin.
The bulk of "Southern" states do in fact fall in the bottom half in the rankings. However, my point is, you should do some research before you make such brazen and slanderous remarks on a topic that you are clearly not "educated" on or have the slightest clue.
