The Movie's Bad. Ashton's Good.

I don't get why people are getting on Ashton's case about the failure of this film. He didn't write it or direct it, now yes he did produce it, and served a pretty big part in the production but I think his intentions were pretty damn good. His acting now wasn't oscar-worthy, hell it's not even golden globe worthy, but it's definitely not a razzie worthy performance, but that doesn't change the fact the film itself won't get a few nominations like worst director, picture and screenplay. The film fell flat not because of Ashton but the screenplay. The script just made Steve seem like this guy who is always giving inspirational speeches no matter what he's talking about.

"I want some orange juice"

"it's not that you want the orange juice, but the orange juice wants you. We want the orange juice to want you and only you, because you're amazing"

Just everything that he said was a bunch of stuff that seemed like was copied off of "The Social Network"...that's it this movie is desperately trying to be "The Social Network".

D for the movie

B- on Ashton's Performance

you see how terrible the contradiction you are making, it's because you are a part of the sheep, the film didn't fail artistically which is the only thing that matters. i really don't care what the stupid critic or people say. it's better than the social network and look nothing like it. you must be drugged. i think what caused negative reaction by the cattle toward this movie is that both jobs lovers and haters found something to hate.

reply

Biopics are suppose to make you love the characters, story, and setting, this failed in all three. Jobs was portrayed as a selfish *beep* who only cared about his product. The movie had potential, but I'm not the one who was drugged while watching the picture sir. I think you were. I was actually stoned while watching it and I still didn't like it. I didn't even like "The Social Network" I thought it was boring, but you can't tell me it wasn't trying to be it. But hey thanks for your opinion, buddy. (:

i never had any apple product, and i never heard of jobs like many people except few months before his death, only know about bill gates, and i was wondering about all that fuss about him, me being very skeptical of main stream media. saw i watched this movie maybe more interested in kutcher rather than jobs. i noticed the movie was kind of biased against jobs in the beginning but i still was able to see jobs point of view from my own experiences and knowledge.

i really liked his character, but maybe because i'm as a brick as he is, from the cattle point of view.

I too don't have an iphone and never followed the story of jobs nor gates. But I did follow this movie for a very, very long time. Ever since it was said on MovieWeb, "ASHTON KUTCHER PORTRAYED AS JOBS?" I instantly became hooked, because I have potential in Ashton Kutcher, he's funny, and like I said he was really, really good. But the film was just not good. I don't know maybe I need to see it again. I just think it made him look like a selfish ...brick I should say. I didn't realize IMDB censored message boards that's really funny. Anyways I didn't mean to come off as typical douche coming on here to bash a movie because I'm not that guy. I love movies. Very much. I wanted this movie to be good, I really did but the only thing I appreciated was Ashton's performance.

Are you *beep* kidding me?!! Both Kutcher and the script were simply terrible. I just turned off the movie 20 mins in because I couldn't take the sight of "Ashton Kutcher acting/speaking/behaving like Ashton Kutcher in the superficial guise of Steve Jobs" anymore.

I have no idea why they simply couldn't recast Noah Wyle (who was simply PERFECT in the role, right down to his mannerisms) and tell the story of Steve Jobs and Apple post-"Pirates of Silicon Valley".

well said.

noah wyle?

reply

Shut up Ashton Kutcher! Your acting in Jobs was no better than Kelso doing "serious talk".

reply

You're telling Ashton Kutcher to shut up even though he never started talking on here..

"Celia. That *beep* can lick my balls...tell her I said hi"

reply

If "yusef-ghanima" thinks I'm Noah Wyle, then it stands to reason that he is surely Ashton Kutcher.

reply

okay obviously this conversation is going six different directions or something.

don't worry it's a great movie, but you need an open mind for it.

if you hate or like jobs you'll not like the movie, you need to watch it with open mind and take care of what is not told in the movie, only hinted

I enjoyed it, its not great. It is in no means in the same ball park as the social network. Kytcher actyally gave a decent performance for him, but je is not or never will compare to Jessie Eisnberg! It was what it was, and good for that.
