Would've made a better mini TV-series

I enjoyed parts of the film but I felt underwhelmed with the finish of the movie, it felt rushed & inconclusive. The first half of the movie dedicated to his early days in the garage, with his friends trying to get the company up and running I thought was really interesting and well done.

After that though we see a brief summary of his falling out with Apple, Next barely get a mention and amazingly Pixar doesn't even get a mention at all. And then there's a brief wrap up of him rejoining Apple with nothing on all the successful products released post this period of time.

Had they done this in a 3 part series;

1. The early days (getting Apple up and running)
2. The Fall out (More on Pixar & Next and his re-emergence into Apple)
3. The success (Cpus, Macbooks, Ipods, Iphones etc etc & the increasing competition)

I think I would've really enjoyed this film and given it a 7-8/10 but I think the 5/10 it gets on IMDB is fair.

Thoughts? Would 3 separate shows be overkill?

From watching both Pirates of Silicon Valley and Jobs, I completely agree. I hope that this is the route that Sorkin ultimately decides to take. I am not convinced that a three hour movie is enough to tell the "Jobs" story, so far has been avoided due to time and/or budget issues. Pixar and Next seemed to be the most interesting periods that were cut from both films. I believe that three 1.5 - 2 hour slots should easily cover the bulk without skipping vital details or becoming overtly boring.

If this were to happen, it would probably be broken down into 6 one hour broadcasts though. The pattern would still essentially be the three parts you mentioned. I could definitely see something like the History channel or HBO picking this up.
