I just watched it and Kutcher shouldn't have been cast

This isn't saying Kutcher didn't do a good job. He did a great job but for Ashton Kutcher. His best is probably Christian Bale's worst. Christian Bale as Jobs would have been great.

Also, the script was bad. Pirates of Silicon Valley was just a better script. It was like watching the movie 21 instead of a biography of Steve Jobs.

For instance, when Jobs opened the letter from Lisa and then later in the movie she's sleep on his couch. This was just poor writing. There should have been a scene connecting the two. After he gets the letter from Lisa, you then have a scene showing Lisa's first visit to Steve's house and he goes to shake her hand and she gives him a hug. You then show Lisa sleeping on the couch in the later scene.

The movie had several scenes like this where the writers didn't connect the scenes.

I can't imagine this movie would be any better with Bale in it, the script just wasn't that good and Bale is a good actor but he's not right for Steve Jobs.

I actually think it was done well, for a 2-hour movie. The contrast between that first letter/note and her on the couch later speaks volumes about how their relationship had changed. I thought it was brilliantly done, while we could focus on the more unique parts of Jobs' career life.

Other than showing his denying paternity, I think they should have left out the daughter entirely. The movie never explained why he was so emotionally distant and cruel. It did a good job showing the creation of Apple and the creative process, though. They should have focused more on that.

And yeah they did need a different actor as Jobs. Kutcher was good but there's no darkness to him. They needed an actor who could be cruel w/out apology.

The actor who played Woz was perfect.
