Why is this movie good?
I have not seen the movie. And I'm not sure if I want to see it either.
How accurate is this movie on real events, has other characters that are based on real people in this movie been fairly portrayed, and what they helped achieve, like Woz for instance. Or is this some kind of Steve Jobs glorification movie?
I remember reading Hackers Heroes of the Computer Revolution, I remember being so enganged in that book and loved reading about all those great hackers in the early days of the personal computer. Thinking how fun it must have been, since I work with programming and electronics myself it might have added to the fun. There were lots of people I look up to after reading that book, and Steve Wozniak is one of them. I never really remember reading anything about Jobs in that book, he might have been mentioned. But he was never really one of the interesting people anyway.
I also think that Pirates of Silicon Valley was a very good movie. There were scenes were Steve Jobs were not portrayed as being a very good person. And I thought that was good, because that might have been closer to the truth, for instance how he treated his employees badly. Instead of being the immaculate hero all the way through the movie, which I fear this movie does.
It raises another question. Is it OK to add false data in historical information?
What will people in the future think if people are not given an accurate story in movies like these?
