No mention of Buying the first keyboard / mouse + Graphical interface

Steve jobs made a life long fortune off takeing things from others this has been fairly well portrayed in the film and showing he was a giant jerk off aswell.

but what they failed to share was apple also bought their first graphical user interface mouse and keyboard designs from xerox for basically a song and dance.

further showing how he made money of other peoples backs and ideas.

he and bill gates were a match made in heaven both thieves and the only differnce is bill gates had at least some skills of his own although not that many but some and a understanding.

I think pirates of silicon valley was a much better movie as it showed the over all picture of what happened.

agree on every point.

Xerox didn't want the mouse technology because they thought nobody wanted it. Like you just said, he BOUGHT IT. To buy something someone has to sell it. Jobs took an idea Xerox didn't think was worth anything and made it the biggest innovation. If anything it shows that Jobs thought differently [read: better] than everyone else.

while i agree that posv was a better, and much more accurate film, i should point out.
Jobs didn't steal the mouse, he bought it.
Gates and MS won the court case demonstrating the significant difference between the MS mouse, and the Apple mouse.

Remember, Apple licensed large portions of the Lisa OS to MS, as part of their deal for developing the office suite for it. The lawsuits were about the parts of it that they DIDN'T license out, that MS copied anyway, and put their own spin on it (so far as the courts were concerned at least)

"The Star workstation, officially known as the Xerox 8010 Information System, was introduced by Xerox Corporation in 1981. It was the first commercial system to incorporate various technologies that have since become standard in personal computers, including a bitmapped display, a window-based graphical user interface, icons, folders, mouse (two-button), Ethernet networking, file servers, print servers and e-mail."

"You're ripping us off!", Steve shouted, raising his voice even higher. "I trusted you, and now you're stealing from us!"

But Bill Gates just stood there coolly, looking Steve directly in the eye, before starting to speak in his squeaky voice.

"Well, Steve, I think there's more than one way of looking at it. I think it's more like we both had this rich neighbor named Xerox and I broke into his house to steal the TV set and found out that you had already stolen it."

Even before Xerox PARC, the real innovators were the people at Stanford Research Institute's Augmentation Research Center. See the 1968 "Mother of All Demos." Was 3+ decades ahead of its time.

When Jobs was on the phone screaming at Gates that he was a thief, I was hoping they'd show Gates' side of it. I think Gates said something like "We both steal from everybody so shut up."
