HBO has announced that episode 5 of "True Detective: Night Country" will arrive this Friday (February 9) instead of its traditional Sunday release date. But this early release is exclusive to Max users, so if you want to watch the latest "True Detective" at 9 p.m. ET on Friday, you'll need to have the streaming service downloaded, set up and ready to go.

If you don't use Max and prefer to watch HBO on linear cable or a cable TV alternative, you still can. HBO is dropping episode 5 on its linear TV HBO channel at 9 p.m. this Sunday (February 11) as it usually does

How many MAX users are here? Since MAX is free if you subscribe to HBO, hopefully that means there are quite a few of us here so that we can discuss what happens in just 2 more days from now???

Should we also label any NEW TOPICS we post this weekend with SPOILER WARNINGS for anyone who won't watch it until Sunday???

Here's the link to an 8 min Video where someone explains what they think is happening in the TRAILER for Ep. 5:

TRUE DETECTIVE Season 4 Episode 5 Trailer Explained

It suggests the characters that we see (the mother, LUND the Amputee, the little boy, etc.) all POINT their fingers at Navarro because she's the killer (who may also have murdered her own mother). And there's also a FLASHBACK scene where we see her in the military again ... where something else also seems to have happened.

And we also see PETER POINTING a GUN at someone who may be his father HANK.

So why would Peter shoot his father? Maybe because when Hank visits his son's place for Christmas he gets into a heated debate with his wife (the same way as Danvers did), and Hank hits her the same way we previously saw him hit his son?

Or maybe Hank hits Pete's son Darwin for some reason?

Also wonder if the abuse of Peter is the reason why Danvers has Hank's job now?

SPOILER WARNING:

According to a CRITIC who has already seen Ep. 5 ...

a close family member will murder and dismember another close family member ...

And since we also see HANK with what might be a Murder Weapon in the PREVIEW CLIP ...

Could it be his son PETER that he dismembers???

Ep 6:

Blair from the crab factory with the missing fingers is in this episode (IMDB)

'Danvers and Navarro are trapped on the research station during a storm, without power or connection to the outside world, forcing them to face the demons of their past.' (synopsis)

' At the nerve-frying climax, set in night country, Danvers and Navarro are trapped in a confined space and tortured by demons real and imaginary.' (source)

'the sixth and final episode includes a claustrophobic crawl through an ice tunnel under the frozen surface of the land, all effectively sending shivers.' (source)

'There is a moment late in the six-episode season, however, when the dour pop soundtrack turns sentimental and it’s clear that we are supposed to be tenderly moved by what is happening. What is happening is that someone is disposing of the dismembered body of the close family member they have just killed.'

Less than 8 HOURS to GO until its Showtime again for NIGHTCOUNTRY on HBO/MAX !!!
