What did Mallory do that made the husband and wife so angry?? I missed it.
She let herself into their house while they were away and fixed up the nursery, including painting the rocking chair with the baby name she had chosen. They heard her rocking upstairs when they returned and when they freaked out on her, her water broke. She then went into labor and had the baby.
