Only 6.6? Metascore is more than excellent - 78/100

The movie was fantastic, it has 90% on RT and very high 78/100 on metacritic (TDKR has that same score) What gives? Reynolds haters trying to vote the film down?

reply

I actually came to rate this a 6 and I was more surprised by the RT and metascore. Critics are just people paid to give their opinion.

I'm not a "hater" of anybody. The movie is just uninspiring and bland. It starts pretty well and ends up on the road to nowhere, pointless and predictable.

I agree. Great movie. Mendenhal is such a good actor.

reply

Exactly. The current rating (although based on small amount of voters for now) doesn't do the movie' justice. It should be at least 7.5 on it's final run.

I haven't taken IMDB ratings seriously ever since Inception and Dark Knight was on it's top 15. People are stupid.

You might hate Nolan (of course you're gonna say that's not the reason), but mentioned films are masterpieces and deserve to be at (at least) Top 30 list.

As for this film, if Ryan Gosling or Jake Gyllenhaal were credited instead of Reynolds, This film would have at least 7.6 (and they wouldn't have done a better job than Reynolds in this film).

How do you know those two wouldn't have done a better job than Reynolds?

reply

Because every single critic says he's amazing in the movie and maybe it's role of his career (although i doubt this role was better than in Buried or the Voices). So that's why. There's no better than the best.

reply

I doubt very critic said that, and from many critic reviews I read, there seems to be more praise for Ben Mendelsohn.
