This wasn't the best performance I've ever seen but I thought Ryan Reynolds was pretty good in this. Not only did he have genuine screen presence but he managed to create an entirely separate human being on screen. And none of the annoying quirks that seem to litter every other movie he does. No quips. No smirking. No going for the cheap laughs.
So was it the directors? The script? Or is simply becoming a decent actor?
Or simply you don't know anything about his latest performances. He's the king of indie films (and roles nothing like Van Wilder) and if you think it's a joke, check out his filmography, starting from 2006...
shareYeah seriously man where have you been?? Reynolds has given plenty of performances of this stature for over ten years now. The Nines, Chaos Theory, Adventureland, Paper Man, Buried, Fireflies In The Garden, The Voices, The Captive. These are the movies people need to pay attention to. Movies like Green Lantern and R.I.P.D. just pay the bills. Although I enjoy those types of flicks too!
