bad acting/line reading, weak exsistential vibe

I was really struck by the bad acting in this movie.
The actors seem pretty badly directed. Like they didn't connect to the audience (at least not me, and i approached the film with an open, indie-movie loving heart) nor each other. The reading of lines was as amateurish as Kevin Smiths 'Clerks' and it really took me completely out of the movie.

I loved 'Greenberg' and what Baumbach got from Ben Stiller in that movie. A near-great film about depression and being a so called 'loser'. 'Frances Ha' was okay with just being as empty and uninspired as it's main character. In that case, the chemistry between actors must hit the spot. It didn't. It really didn't.

Ditto. I have never looked forward to and then hated a movie so much. I found this unwatchable. I know everyone likes different things but this one I saw nothing good about .....
