'Mumblecore'?


Frances Ha has a completely different composition. OK, it was filmed with a digital camera, it has Greta Gerwig and a lot of actors most people don't know and it's kind of alternative, of course, but anyone who has watched films from this "sub-genre", Funny Ha Ha being the first (with the emergence of the term), noted that they are films of a short period, silent, improvised, the soundtrack is casual, some scenes in the same place are very long and the rhythm/script is very natural, without much concern for lighting and other things and I don't think Frances Ha is like that.

You're right, it's a departure from Hannah Takes the Stairs and other films of that nature.
