Frances' fabulous weekend in Paris
That was the most flawless trip by anyone. Ever.
shareHave to admit i can relate to her a little bit too much, at least in the sense of traveling to a new country, with all these amazing things too see and then not really knowing what to do.
Last year i took a last minute trip to Spain too meet a friend of mine there that's half spanish and knows the country well. He ended up getting really sick just before i got there and had to spend a week in the hospital. So i basically had 5 days with no plans, i had no activities planned (he was suppose to show me the ropes and the "no tourist" way of life) and nothing to do really. I ended up seeing the tourist sights, took a wine trip (but it felt kinda awkward doing it alone), took a lot of walks and ended up mostly getting drunk on the beach while reading books. Just like Frances there was lot of walking around doing nothing and the few things i "manned up" to do usually didn't work out for various reason (fully booked, only for couples, language barriers etc).
I'm a pretty outgoing person, but man traveling alone is no joke. Definetly need some experience i think, or at least plan a little bit ahead like living at a hostel for the social aspects and such.
