Great movie! If you are a fan of Kennedy and history, watch this film

First I will say that I was happy that this film didnt involve crazy conspiracies. I felt, watching this film, as though I was living these events through the eyes of Abraham Zapruder, Forrest Sorrels, Dr. Jim Jerrico, and even Jackie Kennedy.

Giamatti was fantastic as Zapruder. As was BB Thorton (Sorrels), Ephron (Jerrico), and Colin Hanks (Dr Perry). Ron Livingston also a good performance as FBI Agent Hosty.

The way they tied in actual footage from that day in Dallas was also outstanding, without being tastless.

This film exuded the pain felt by many on 22 Nov 63, instead of pointing fingers at the grassy knoll, the cubans, the russians, the government, the military, the CIA, President Johnson, or the mob...

I hope this helps anyone that was on the fence of whether or not to watch. I'd enjoy reading anyone else's take...

I couldn’t agree more with your assessment of the film. As I watched I only found little things to pick at which could have been done slightly differently and therefore been more historically accurate. The biggest example of this is the way they handled the prayer in the trauma room. In the film it shows the priest (Father Huber) reciting the entire prayer over President Kennedy’s body. Father Huber told Jimmy Breslin, however, in an article written for the Hearst newspapers and published on the 24th, that he and Mrs. Kennedy both prayed over the President, the “…and let perpetual light shine upon him” being uttered by Mrs. Kennedy. In the grand scheme of things that’s minor, of course, but for me it stuck out like a sore thumb.

One little thing I especially enjoyed (although I'm not certain whether it really happened) was the moment when Marsha Gay Hardin’s character Nurse Doris Nelson caught sight of that feller in the suit who looked like he really didn’t belong at all and quickly shoved him out the door into the hallway: “You, young man – out!” The one light moment in the film I thought which fit perfectly with the situation.
