How much is historic footage?

I was thinking of renting this. I can't imagine how it can be made without mostly historic footage, but there is a full cast, so don't know.

Very little is historic footage.

There are a few shots of the arrival at the airport and in the motorcade but it's largely recreated footage... stuff that wouldn't have had cameras around... they weren't as ubiquitous then.

It's not a documentary and, while it's based on research that the director did, it's not presented as FACT. It's a fictional movie and carries a disclaimer as such.

OK, Thanks for that.

If you're interested in 1) seeing a ton of historical footage associated with the events of 11/22/63 and its aftermath, and 2) getting a very good idea of how much was used in Parkland, I STRONGLY recommend the History Channel documentary, "JFK: 3 Shots That Changed America".

Watch Oliver Stone's JFK, the Director's Cut. At 205 mins. many of the questions & bizarre happenings of 11/22/63 are discussed in depth. Listen to Stone's audio commentary. He also refers his audience to books that further examine the assassination.

kimasabe90035-1, oliver stone's 'JFK' was a provocateur film, not one of enlightening truth and answer, which is how it presents itself. it was designed for dramatic impact and succeeded.
