I'm a huge Paul Haggis fan. Massive. But this was a great film...until the final 10 minutes. I saw a screening in New York earlier tonight, and it wasn't completed, but I really hope they redo the ending, because it completely shat on the excellent first 2/3.
Oh yes. It was very well acted (I didn't much care for Moran Atias, but I think everyone else was great).
Neeson was awesome, but he doesn't know how to act badly. Olivia Wilde was SEXY as hell, but did a very good job. Mila Kunis, who I'm not usually a fan of, did quite well. Maria Bello did well. Kim Basinger did ok for what she had. Adrien Brody did well too.
You won't be disappointed by the acting, that's for sure. And other than the ending, Haggis hit the nail right on the head with his writing and direction. I just hope they tweak a couple of scenes at the end to make it more fluid and make more sense. I'm sure they will.
2. I heard that Neeson, Franco, Kunis might be Oscar worthy as well as the movie as a whole? In particular, Franco and Kunis have one of the most intense scenes in recent memory? Could you confirm if it's that epic.
3. Casey Affleck was he actually in this movie after all.
4. Who was your fav couple from the three cities?
Regarding the ending, oh shame, may be the feedback from advance screenings will highlight this more and be improved to make more sense.
1. Nothing special. He had a few good minutes towards the end, but his character was the most throwaway in the film.
2. It is intense, but she gives much more in it than he does. She was quite good in the movie, though I'm not sure any of them are Oscar-worthy (and I adore Liam Neeson and consider him the best living actor today).
3. Not in the cut that I saw.
4. The most well-written and interesting were Neeson and the hottie, though I didn't like where it ended.
Also: yes, it was very surprising to see her again. She looks very good for her age; good in general.
I totally agree, but we were given forms to fill out afterward, and much of the questions had to do with the ending, and the satisfaction we had with it.
That's true. I do remember that now. I'd just be curious to see what they could do with it. They'd probably have to do reshoots to fix it, and even then I'm not sure how exactly.
